Take Your Fitness to the Next Level

With 1 out of every 3 people in the country being overweight, there are things that we can do in order to become healthy individuals.  Here are 5 things that you can add to your every day routine and watch the inches come off.

1)  DRINK MORE WATER-

The average American consumes far less water than they should, so hear are some tips that will help you drink more water throughout the day.  1) After every time you drink some water, take an extra sip of water.  2) Set goals for yourself. For example, for every 4 cups of water you drink, reward yourself with a cup of one of your favorite beverages.

2)  WAKE UP 30 MINUTES EARLY AND TAKE A WALK

Walking in the morning not only burns a few calories before your day starts, but it helps relieve stress, which is one of the biggest reasons of weight gain.

3)  START STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength training not only burns calories during your training session, but it also continues to burn calories from 24 to 48 hours after your session is over. It’s  like leaving the gym and getting a free coupon for an extra 500 calories and we all love coupons.  So start throwing up those weights!!!

4)  DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR HEART

Doing cardio is the most efficient way to burn those stubborn calories, however, it has many other benefits.  And the most important one of those benefits is the amount of good it does for your heart.  By doing this, you will increase your blood flow to those muscles for better strength training sessions and quicker recovery time, so you can get back to the gym and train as hard as the day before.

5)  PLEASE WARM UP AND COOL DOWN

If you are like me, then you are not 16 anymore (even though 40 is the new 20, so technically I am still 16). So, with that being said, you must always begin your workout with proper stretching and end your workout with the proper cool down. Before you workout, you should take 5 minutes to warm up and then take 10 minutes and stretch. Also, concluding every workout, you should take 10 minutes to cool down.
